Robert Duncan McNeill stars as the Starship Voyager's helmsman, Lieutenant Tom Paris, a man from a family of Starfleet lengends. Paris enlisted with the Maquis and was caught by Starfleet and was imprisoned but was given a second chance by Captain Janeway. Robert McNeill was born in North Carolina and raised in Washington D.C., his family finally settled in Atlanta, georgia. After attending a local high school, he moved to New York City and enrolled at Juilliard where he studied for two years to become an actor and got his first role as Charlie Brent in the drama, "All My Children".

Robert McNeill has also tried his hand at directing. He made his directing debut on the show he is currently working on, "Star Trek Voyager", episode entitled, "Sacred Ground".
