stardate 49373.4 Lieutenant Paris makes history by becoming the first person to make a transwarp flight. But soon after his shuttle returns from warp ten he undergoes startling biochemistry changes. His cell membranes begin to degrade and despite the Doctor's best efforts, Paris is pronounced dead.

stardate: unknown. When a crew member is murdered, Lieutenant Tuvok's investigation points the finger at Ensign Suder as the perpetrator. Unable to find a logical motive for committing such a crime, Tuvok attempts to understand the violent impulses of a criminal by performing a mind-meld with Suder. His emotional suppression abilities is also removed when the Doctor initiates treatment to remove the abilities.
