When investigation of an alien technology causes her to overdose on salacious data, Seven of Nine discovers conspiracies which threaten to divide the crew into two opposing camps. Approaching Janeway and Chakotay separately, Seven's secret allegations of treachery only serve to fan the flames of insurrection.

An ex-crewmember of the U.S.S Enterprise D, Mr Barclay, is obsessed with getting Voyager home, spending most of his time in the holodecks of a recreated Voyager crew testing his theory. He takes his theories to his superior and to Admiral Paris but his continuity in going to the holodecks leads him to be banned from the Starfleet Command building and the Voyager Project.
