stardate: unknown. B'Elanna is coming to terms with the Klingon tradition, "Day of Honor" where each Klingon must undergo several rituals. When she does in a holodeck program she and Paris created, she finds it difficult to finish the rituals. When a warp core breaches, they dump it in space. B'Elanna and Paris goes to retrieve it but find themselves stranded out in space.

stardate 51082.4. Chakotay was sent on an away mission to undergo a survey on a planet but instead crash lands and meets the natives of the planet, the Vhori. Chakotay is taken in by the Vhori and is asked to join them to defend them from an alien race but to find out it was only a simulation that the Vhori created.
