Seven of Nine also known as Annika Hansen before she was assimilated by the Borg Collective was assimilated at the age of six when she was on board the experimental research/ exploration vessel SS Raven, NAR-32450 entered the Delta Quadrant where the crew and passenger's was assimilated for eighteen years.

Aboard Voyager she created the Astrometrics Lab with Ensign Harry Kim around stardate 51186. It came on-line on stardate 51252.3. She resurrected Neelix using Borg technology after over 18 hours, brain-dead.

Seven of Nine is now a former Borg drone. The crew of the USS Voyager first encountered Seven of Nine when she was still with the Borg in 2373 during an alliance Captain Kathryn Janeway successfully negotiated with the Borg collective to combat Species 8472.

Seven of Nine, serving as Tertiary Adjunct to Uni-matrix zero-one within the Collective was brought upon to speak for the Borg collective with Captain Janeway and Lieutenant Tuvok during a war with Species 8472 in developing a biogenic weapon that would defeat Species 8472.

After the successful plan to defeat Species 8472, Seven of Nine tried to gain control of the ship and get the crew of Voyager assimilated but was not successful. With all the Borg that was on board Voyager being vacuumed into space and her link to the Collective lost she was severed and had no choice but to stay aboard Voyager. Captain Janeway felt because it was her decision to sever Seven of Nine and keep her on board Voyager, she was responsible for her and had hoped Seven of Nine will regain her human side.
